人々の関係性により変容する、空気を読む “イス”型イルミネーション。

本作品は、象の鼻パークに設置されている石のベンチを用いた、座る人同士の関係性により光量・色といった環境を変容させるベンチ型の「空気を読むイルミネーション」である。

通常時は、ベンチはそれぞれの色で光り、石のワイヤーフレームを模したイルミネーションとして機能する。体験者が着席すると、座ったタイミングに応じてカップル・友人といった特性を判断する。

例えば、カップル同士の場合同じ色になったり、より近しい関係であると判断された場合は、空気を読んで徐々に光量を下げることで、体験者たちのムードを高める。

象の鼻パークに設置されている石型ベンチは、かつてこの地で堤防として利用されていたものであり、その風合い・形状には「時」が刻まれている。この時の流れを夜間も感じることができるよう、非着席時はぼんやりと石の輪郭線を繰り返し発光させることで、来場者にはおだやかな海の波や、時の流れを視覚的に感じてもらうことができる。

An air-reading ‘chair’ illumination that transforms according to the relationships between people. This work is a bench-type ‘air-reading illumination’ that uses the stone benches installed in ZOU-NO-HANA Park to transform the environment in terms of light intensity and colour according to the relationships between the people sitting on them.

Under normal conditions, the benches glow in different colours and function as an illumination that mimics a stone wire frame. When visitors sit down, the system determines whether they are a couple or friends, depending on when they sit down.

For example, if couples are seated in the same colour, or if they are in a closer relationship, the light intensity is gradually lowered to enhance the mood of the visitors.

The stone benches installed in ZOU-NO-HANA Park were once used as embankments in the area, and their texture and shape are etched with ‘time’.

In order to allow visitors to feel the flow of time at night, when not seated, the stone outlines emit a dim, repetitive light, allowing visitors to visually feel the gentle waves of the sea and the flow of time.
