Concept
JR大塚駅北口駅前広場 再整備工事プロジェクトの一環で行われた、「光のファンタジー」のコンセプト策定、照明演出を担当いたしました。再整備工事では、これまで暗くて分かりづらい印象のあった駅前ロータリーを整備し、大塚のOをイメージした新たな大塚の象徴となるモニュメントが設置されました。
大小4つのモニュメントから構成される駅前空間は、夜になるとライトアップが行われ、街全体が一つになる空間が生み出されます。更に、毎時00分、30分には四季折々のイメージを施した光の演出が行われ、季節の移ろいを感じられる空間となっています。
街の人々に寄り添う「光のファンタジー」が、これからますます発展していく大塚の一助となるよう、願っております。
The project was part of the JR Otsuka Station North Exit Station Square Redevelopment Project, for which we were responsible for the concept development and lighting direction of the ‘Fantasy of Light’.
The redevelopment work involved the construction of a new roundabout in front of the station, which had previously looked dark and confusing, and the installation of a new monument symbolising Otsuka, based on the image of the O of Otsuka. The space in front of the station, consisting of four monuments of various sizes, is illuminated at night, creating a space that brings the whole town together.
Furthermore, at 00:00 and 30:00 every hour, a light display with images of the four seasons is created, creating a space where the changing of the seasons can be felt.
We hope that the ‘light fantasy’ that accompanies the people of the city will contribute to the further development of Otsuka in the future.
